Students enrolled in the elementary school program at WSD take the same classes as those offered in public schools. These classes include reading, writing, English, math, social studies, science, physical education, health and nutrition, art, and computers. Additionally, our students not only use ASL, but also learn about it as an academic subject starting in preschool. Since language and communication are critical components to our program, our early grades are focused on building language, experiences, and communication skills in both ASL and English.
Elementary aged students also have opportunities to participate in various clubs after school, developing age appropriate skills (turn taking, leadership) in a fun, non-academic setting.
Early Childhood Program
Preschool and pre-kindergarten programs for students ages three to five.
Elementary Activities
Elementary students enjoy school celebrations and activities each year.
