Volunteer service is strongly encouraged for all high school students who are working towards their WSD diploma. Students need at least 40 hours by the time they graduate. A student with at least 40 hours will receive a gray/beige cord to go with a graduation gown as well as a volunteer service seal on their diploma.
When a student completes their volunteer service, they must fill out the Volunteering Service Verification & Short Essay form and turn it into the School Social Worker to have their hours documented. Please be sure to review the guidelines of the rules regarding how service hours will be accepted. See the Letter to Parents for more details. Lastly, this lengthy presentation is to provide you information in detail which can be viewed in the classroom and at home with the family: (link to be input here).
