Community Service

Community service is a requirement for all of high school students who are working towards their WSD diploma. Students need 32 hours by the time they graduate with a suggestion of completing at least 8 hours per year. If the student earns 33 or more hours; they will receive a gray cord to use at graduation and a community service seal on their diploma.

When a student completes their community service, they must fill out the Volunteering/Community Service Verification & Short Essay form and turn it into the School Social Worker to have their hours documented. Please be sure to review the guidelines of the rules regarding how service hours will be accepted. See the Letter to Parents for more details.
