What services can I request through WDBTAP?
- A child can be added to the deafblind child count. This allows the family and teachers access to all of the WDBTAP resources if they chose to use them. Contact with the family or teacher is not required beyond determination that the student is eligible for services.
- Once on the deafblind child count, the family or the service providers can request a consultation, borrow items from the lending library, participate in trainings and events, and more.
- Families can choose to participate in the family programming offered.
- School Staff/Service Providers can attend professional development opportunities to learn more about the needs of a child who is deafblind.
What happens when I make a request for service?
If a family or service provider has requested that a child be added to the deafblind child count, a new family packet will be sent to the family. Additionally, WDBTAP’s family engagement coordinator will call the family to check in and see if there are ways WDBTAP can help to support the family.
Once the ROI and the Request for Service are both received, a WDBTAP staff member will be in contact with the person making the request to gather more information about the support or services the individual or team is requesting.
