As of January 1, 2018, the Wisconsin Infant & Children’s Statewide Hearing Aid Exchange Service (WISHES) has been transitioned from the Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WESP-DHH) Outreach to the University of Wisconsin - Madison Speech and Hearing Clinic. WISHES will continue to provide trial periods with amplification to Wisconsin children who are deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind ages birth to 18. Since its inception in 2009, Outreach has had the distinct pleasure of providing WISHES support to 134 children and their families. We appreciate the collaborative efforts of UW-Madison, the WI Office for the Promotion of Independent Living (OPIL) and WisTech to insure the continued success of this vital program.
